Madison is a passenger rail station along the Shore Line East commuter railroad between Stamford and New London, Connecticut. Madison is also a station on the northern section of the Northeast Corridor. Amtrak does not stop at this station but Amtrak trains can often be seen passing this station.[1] Prior to the establishment of the Shore Line East system, Madison was a stop for Amtrak's Beacon Hill trains,[2] although this station was located on 60 State Street.[3] On July 28, 2008, a new station with a high-level side platform and commuter shelter area opened for service a short distance to the West of the previous station.[4]
